Pantone’s 2014 Color of the year is the gorgeous Radiant Orchid. And do I love it? No. Do I like it? Yes. Purple has never really been my favorite. But I like it. I like the slightly muted tone which warms up a cold winter but isn’t too bright. It’s also very soft and sweet which would go very well for Spring and
Summer. I think it’s going to be all about what you pair the colors with.
I’ve always been a lover a color. I feel like every color exudes a certain emotion and makes you feel a certain way. And though I also have a place in my heart for beautiful patterns color definitely takes the cake.
So here is my personal color palette for 2014. Like I said, it’s all about what you pair the colors with.
I always like a contrast of color. No matter the season or time or year I like to pair lights and darks or loud colors with muted tones. It always gives me a sense of balance. I guess that’s the reason for most of my color selections to pair with that pink/purple hue.
